An exploration of the human condition. A devotion to the truth of being.
Meet Claire
Claire Diane is a transformational guide and teacher whose work brings together more than two decades of exploration across psychology, mind-body medicine, human conditioning and the contemplative traditions.
At the heart of her teaching is a direct and uncompromising invitation to recognise what we are prior to everything we have learned to believe ourselves to be.
Her work explores the deeply conditioned structures through which we experience ourselves and the world, and the profound possibility of awakening beyond these limitations into the freedom, intimacy and aliveness of our essential nature.
Rooted in direct inquiry and a deeply embodied understanding of human experience, Claire's approach invites a fundamental shift in how we relate to our thoughts, emotions, bodies, relationships and life itself.
A return to the heart of being, and the discovery of what becomes possible when we are no longer living from the identities shaped by our past.
The beginnings of an inquiry
Long before this work became her vocation, Claire was drawn towards the deeper questions of human existence.
An early introduction to meditation through weekly classes at a Buddhist centre opened a doorway into an exploration that would gradually become central to her life.
What began as an interest in the mind and the inner world developed into a profound fascination with the nature of human experience, the relationship between body and mind, and the possibility of a freedom that could not be explained by external circumstances alone.
Alongside this contemplative inquiry, Claire pursued an extensive academic and professional exploration of the human condition.
Her studies in psychology, herbal medicine and clinical psychoneuroimmunology laid the foundations for a deep understanding of the intricate relationships between our physiology, emotions, psychological experience and health.
Her work expanded into integrative mind-body medicine, trauma, nervous system science and somatic approaches, exploring how our earliest experiences shape the way we perceive, respond to and participate in life.
Over the years, she worked intimately with people navigating deeply ingrained emotional patterns, physical symptoms, protective responses and the complex ways in which the past continues to organise the present.
And through this work, a deeper question became increasingly significant.
What if understanding the mechanisms of our conditioning is only part of the exploration?
What if the very identity through which we experience that conditioning is itself open to question?.
Beyond the conditioned self
Alongside her professional work, Claire's contemplative inquiry continued to deepen, drawing her increasingly towards the teachings of Vedanta, Kashmir Shaivism and the wider wisdom traditions.
What began as an exploration of the mind, body and the patterns shaping human experience became an inquiry into something far more fundamental.
Who are we, prior to everything we have learned to believe ourselves to be?
This question opened an entirely different understanding of freedom.
The familiar movements of seeking, resisting, protecting and controlling were no longer simply patterns to understand or transform. They could be seen as expressions of a conditioned identity that had been mistaken for the entirety of who we are.
And beneath the constant effort to become different, to resolve the past or secure the future, there was something that had never needed improving.
The simple, immediate reality of being itself.
This recognition profoundly changed Claire's understanding of transformation. The deepest freedom was no longer found in endlessly changing the contents of experience, but in discovering that our essential nature was never confined to them.
The most fundamental transformation is not a change in what we experience. It is a change in what we know ourselves to be.
To discover what we are beyond the conditioned self is to discover an entirely different way of being human, and an intimacy with life far greater than anything our conditioning has allowed us to imagine.
The intimacy of Being. The fullness of being human.
Bringing together intimate dialogue, direct inquiry and embodied exploration, her work reaches into the very fabric of how we experience ourselves — illuminating the conditioned movements of thought, emotion and sensation through which the survival self is continually brought into existence.
The fear that rises before we have even understood what we're afraid of. The contraction that turns uncertainty into danger. The almost imperceptible movement of resistance that divides us from our own experience, leaving us forever trying to manage, resolve or escape what is already here.
These are the movements through which an entire identity is sustained. A self organised around the memory of what has been, the anticipation of what might come, and the endless effort to secure itself against life.
And even our most devoted attempts to heal can become another expression of that same movement.
We can spend a lifetime trying to liberate ourselves from the very identity through which we're attempting to become free.
Claire's work enters this territory with extraordinary intimacy and precision.
As these deeply familiar movements are met directly, without the habitual effort to correct, control or escape them, something fundamental can begin to loosen.
The emotional patterns that once seemed inseparable from who we are lose their authority. The past no longer needs to continually announce itself through the present. Fear can arise without becoming the centre from which life is lived.
And what becomes possible reaches far beyond the resolution of suffering.
The freedom to feel the whole of our humanity without being imprisoned by it. To love without continually retreating into protection. To meet uncertainty without demanding that life first become predictable. To participate in existence without the exhausting interference of a self forever trying to secure its place within it.
A life in which our humanity is no longer something to overcome, manage or transcend, but the very intimacy through which the freedom of Being is lived.
The work today…
From the patterns of survival to the freedom of Being..
Through private mentorship, group immersions and her flagship programme, Deep Aliveness, Claire works with people drawn towards a profound exploration of themselves and the nature of life.
Many have spent years immersed in personal development, psychological healing or contemplative practice, and recognise that a deeper shift is possible beyond the continued refinement of the self they have learned to be.
Her teaching is direct, intimate and deeply experiential, grounded in a devotion to truth and an understanding of the extraordinary complexity of the human condition.
At the heart of everything she offers is a simple invitation.
